The Missouri Department of Natural Resources’ Division of Energy will receive $5,672,000 in federal funds from the U.S. Department of Energy to help citizens purchase energy-efficient appliances. Kansas

State Energy Office

Energy Audit Rebate Program: Kansas residents are eligible for $100 energy audits. The State Energy Office wants to eliminate the cost of the audit as a barrier to participation in the Efficiency Kansas loan program, and showcase the value of an energy audit to eliminate the need to subsidize the audit cost long-term. Participation in the Efficiency Kansas program is not required.
Revolving Loan Program for Energy Efficiency: This program will establish a revolving loan fund to provide a sustainable source of financing for cost-effective energy efficiency improvements in Kansas homes and small businesses. To ensure improvements will be cost-effective, the Revolving Loan Program requires all funded projects to be based on an audit and a customized energy conservation proposal from an approved energy auditor. Loan amounts are up to $20,000, with no more than 4% interest. Loan repayments are what you save each month on your utility bills!

For example, Mr. Jones has gas and electric bills totaling an average of $250 each month. Once Mr. Jones receives the loan and does the recommended improvements his utilities are reduced to $185. This means the loan repayment is no more than $65 a month.

Participants can access the Revolving Loan Program either through (1) Partner Banks or (2) Partner Utilities. Currently there are only two banks, Sunflower Bank and Mid America Bank, that are qualified and no utilities. However these are changing every day so be sure to check back here or the State Energy Office website: www.efficiencykansas.com
The State Energy Office has received $34 million for the revolving loan program. Revolving meaning as customers repay, the more other customers can receive funds to improve their homes and businesses.
